Sheboygan, Wisconsin – July 31, 2024 – The City of Sheboygan is thrilled to announce the arrival of a delegation from our Sister City, Tsubame, Japan, marking the first visit in 13 years. From August 1st to August 6th, we will host three chaperones and four students, celebrating our enduring 28-year partnership and shared values.

The Mayor’s International Committee extends their heartfelt gratitude to the host families who have graciously opened their homes to our visitors. This hospitality is the cornerstone of our cultural exchange, strengthening the bonds between our communities.
To commemorate this special visit, a symbolic tree planting ceremony will be held on Thursday, August 1st, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Seven Halesia Carolina U.Conn Wedding Bell trees will be planted on the west side of North 3rd Street, across from Peace Park. This event honors our shared values and friendship while underscoring our commitment to a greener, more connected world.

In addition to the tree planting ceremony, Mayor Ryan Sorenson will formally acknowledge our Tsubame Delegation at the Ninth Common Council meeting on Monday, August 5th.
