Mayor Ryan Sorenson recently appointed Kristin Blanchard Stearns to the City of Sheboygan’s Board of Police and Fire Commissioners. She joins Andrew Hopp, Jerry Jones, Jeanne Kliejunas, and Larry Samet.
Stearns has been a nonprofit leader in our community for decades, previously leading SCIO; she volunteers through Rotary, United Way of Sheboygan County, and many others, and serves on the Board of Directors for Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce. She is currently the CEO of Lakeshore Community Health Care.
“My work in our community gives me a unique perspective on the bigger role our police and fire departments play as leaders in Sheboygan,” Stearns said at her swearing in ceremony on April, 28, 2022. “It will be an honor to serve the city and help these departments operate at their highest potential.”
The Board of Police and Fire Commissioners will meet Wednesday, May 4, 2022 to elect commission officers. The Board of Police and Fire Commissioners makes decisions on hiring, firing, and promotions as well as disciplinary action in the city’s fire and police departments.
