Bird Scooter Safety Reminders:
Bird electric scooters are a fun, convenient, and sustainable way to get around Sheboygan — but safety comes first! Please follow these important safety reminders when riding:
Ride Smart & Ride Safe:

Stay off sidewalks — scooters should be used in bike lanes or on the street, and only on roads with a speed limit of 25 mph or less.

Park responsibly — use designated bike racks or park neatly out of the pedestrian right-of-way.
- Parking Reminder — scooters may not be parked on parklets, in loading zones, accessible parking spaces, curb ramps, entryways, driveways, or transit stops. Scooters must always be parked in an upright position.

Ride solo — only one rider is allowed per scooter.

Riders must be 18 years or older.
- Wear a helmet — helmets are available free of charge at the Visit Sheboygan Visitor Center, located at 826 S. 8th Street.

- Use the Bird App – Community Mode: Anyone with a Bird account can report issues such as poorly parked or damaged vehicles. Simply tap the yield sign on the bottom left corner of the Bird map, provide the Bird ID number and details of the issue, and a team member will be assigned to correct it.
Free Rides for Healthcare Workers and Emergency Personnel
Bird is proud to offer free rides to healthcare workers and emergency personnel. To sign up, simply email a copy of your medical identification card along with your name and phone number to together@bird.co. Eligible riders will receive two free 30-minute rides per day.
Community Pricing
The Community Pricing Program offers a 50% discount to low-income riders, Pell grant recipients, select local nonprofit and community organizations, veterans, and seniors. It’s designed to be the an inclusive micromobility discount program. To sign up for this program, you must create an account and email proof of eligibility to access@bird.co.

Bird scooters and other shared mobility devices are governed by City of Sheboygan ordinances designed to promote safe and responsible use.

Ordinance Violation Notice:
Failure to comply with the City’s scooter ordinances may result in a $25 municipal citation.
