Sheboygan, Wisconsin – August 29, 2022 – The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Sheboygan has awarded a Community Development Block Grant in the amount of $500,000 to Old World Creamery. A portion of the loan will support equipment expenses and create 20 new permanent full-time employment opportunities in the City through the expansion of business development over the course of 3 years.
In May of 2018, Old World Creamery received a $500,000 furniture, fixtures and equipment loan for the creation of 29 new positions over the course of two years, with 15 of the positions being held by low-to-moderate income individuals. Old World Creamery has met job creation requirements for the second $500,000 loan by creating 30.8 full-time or equivalent new positions with 26.6 of them being low-to-moderate income.
“We are excited to expand operations within our community. We continue to focus on minimizing waste while adding new products to store shelves. We have big plans of really exciting things to come. Who knows, soon, you may even get to pull up to our drive thru window and leave with squeaky cheese curds or ice cream scoops of yummy deliciousness!” said Steve Knaus.
