Harbor Centre BID Announces John Motiska as Executive Director

March 18, 2019 by Mayor's Office

Harbor Centre Business Improvement District (BID) is pleased to announce that John Motiska will assume the position of Executive Director beginning early March 2019. John Motiska is assuming the position of Executive Director from Amanda Salazar, who has resigned from this position to assume a new position with the John Michael Kohler Arts Center. According to David Gass, President of Harbor Centre, “We are grateful and thankful for the dedicated service provided by Amanda as Executive Director. We will miss her as Executive Director. She has done a tremendous job for Harbor Centre, and we now enthusiastically welcome John as our next Executive Director. He brings years of experience in the branding and marketing world. We look forward to working with him in moving Harbor Centre to bigger and better success.”

John Motiska brings over 15 years of leadership as a Senior Digital Media Designer for 11Giraffes, a nationally recognized digital advertising agency based in Charlotte, NC. During his tenure, John designed and pioneered the initial launch of the company’s media software, which is now being used internationally. With his extensive knowledge in media and branding, John played a key role in guiding their clients to ensure style and consistency. John has also partnered with his father’s design firm, where his focus was on community and place branding. His primary objective was to help communities, campuses, and destinations visually brand themselves. According to John, “I’m honored to be chosen to lead the Harbor Centre BID. I look forward to working with the BID’s board of directors and many partners to continue its growth and success.”

Severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon into tonight. If storms develop during the afternoon to early evening hours, they will rapidly become severe (hail, wind, and tornadoes all possible). Keep an eye on the skies today and be sure to have a shelter plan! #wiwx #swiwx

Off and on chances for showers and thunderstorms, with the exception of Friday night through Sunday (with generally dry and quiet weather). A few rumbles of thunder possible late tonight into Fri AM, but the main focus for storm potential is Monday/Tuesday next week. #wiwx
