City Attorney
The City Attorney’s Office represents the City of Sheboygan as a municipal corporation and handles all legal business for the City, its fifteen departments, five standing committees, and many boards, commissions, and governmental agencies. The Office provides legal advice and opinions; prepares and examines legislation for the Common Council; prosecutes violations of City ordinance, and drafts legal documents required for City business including contracts, policies, ordinances, and resolutions. This is no small undertaking as the City employs over 400 individuals, serves thousands of customers daily, and manages approximately $190 million in annual revenue.
The City Attorney’s Office does not represent Sheboygan County, the Sheboygan Area School District, residents, the general public, or those doing business with the City. As such, if you have questions about a City policy, practice, or municipal code, please contact the relevant department directly.
