The Electrical Division issues electrical permits and performs inspections associated with those permits. Except for a few minor exceptions, all electrical work done in the City of Sheboygan must be under an issued electrical permit. An electrical contractor who is licensed shall secure the permit. The contractor shall be present for all inspections.

Small solar PV projects (10kW or less) have a turnaround time of less than 3 business days. Solar projects require the Standardized Solar Permitting Checklist, Site Plan, and Standard String System to be completed as part of the electrical permit application process.
