City of Sheboygan Declares Snow Emergency Effective 6:00am on Sunday March 15, 2026

March 13, 2026 by Marie Foss

City of Sheboygan Declares Snow Emergency Effective 6:00am on Sunday March 15, 2026

The City of Sheboygan, under the direction of Mayor Ryan Sorenson, has declared a Snow Emergency beginning Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 6:00 AM. Residents are urged to follow snow emergency guidelines to assist with efficient snow removal and ensure public safety.

Starting at 6:00am on Sunday March 15, residents must park on the ODD side (south and east) of streets. Residents parked on Snow Emergency Routes are highly encouraged to find alternate parking prior to the start of the snow.

Starting at 6:00 AM, parking of vehicles on designated snow emergency routes, boulevards, cul-de-sacs, and dead-end streets is completely prohibited during the duration of the snow emergency. Vehicles can ONLY return to these streets after the City of Sheboygan announces the end of snow emergency operations.

Parking on all other streets will follow all-day alternate side parking

Snow Emergency Parking Guidelines

During the snow emergency, the following parking regulations will be in effect:

  • All-Day Alternate Side Parking: Vehicles on non-snow emergency routes/boulevards/cul-de-sacs/dead-end streets must follow all-day alternate side parking, based on the calendar date.
  • No Parking on Snow Emergency Routes: Parking is prohibited on designated snow emergency routes, boulevards, cul-de-sacs, and dead ends during the emergency period.
  • Vehicles can ONLY return to these streets after the City of Sheboygan announces the end of snow emergency operations.
  • Suspended One-Side Parking Restrictions: One-side parking restrictions will be temporarily lifted, and vehicles must follow alternate side parking on streets where parking is not prohibited.
  • Post-Snowplowing Vehicle Relocation: Once the plows have cleared the curb (typically in two to three passes), vehicles should be moved to the plowed side of the street before 12:00 AM on Monday.
  • Vehicles on non-prohibited streets must be moved to the even side of the street (north and west) after the plow has cleared snow from the opposite side of the street and before midnight on Monday morning.
  • Off-Street Parking Encouraged: Residents are strongly encouraged to park off-street whenever possible to assist with efficient snow removal.
  • Enforcement & Towing: Vehicles parked in violation of the snow emergency rules will be ticketed and towed.  Vehicle in violation of the Snow Emergency parking restrictions are subject to a $50 parking violation and towing fees.

Simple Steps to Follow:

  1. Stay: Park on the correct side of the street for winter parking.
  1. Wait: Wait for the plows to clear the opposite side.
  1. Relocate: Move your vehicle to the plowed side before midnight.
  1. Repeat: Keep your car parked on the plowed side the following day.

The City of Sheboygan appreciates residents’ cooperation in keeping streets clear and safe during winter weather conditions.

A band of heavy snow is producing rapidly snow covered roads and low visibilities across Fond du Lac County into northern Dodge County. Although still anticipating less than an inch of total accumulations in most regions, use extra caution if traveling! #swiwx #wiwx
