On October 31, 2024, the City experienced an encryption event that resulted in a network disruption. Upon discovering the incident, it swiftly took steps to secure its digital environment and engaged experts to conduct an investigation to determine whether any data may have been affected. The investigation revealed that certain data stored on a segment of the City’s network may have been accessed or acquired without authorization.
Following a comprehensive and thorough review of the data involved, the City learned on May 14, 2025, that certain individuals’ personal information was affected by this incident.
On May 23, 2025, the City mailed notices to affected individuals.
