The grand opening of City Green and the opening of a new public art display on N. 8th Street will be held on Thursday, June 21. The art display is a partnership with the John Michael Kohler Arts Center (JMKAC) and Sheboygan Squared. Attend the reception at 5:00 pm to be one of the first to see Diana Gabriel’s large-scale art installation. This new addition to JMKAC’s Art in Public Spaces program is located in the alleyway next to the Korthals Enterprises building in the 500 block of North Eighth Street, downtown Sheboygan.
Sheboygan’s North High School Drumline performance will start at 5:45 at Diana Gabriel’s art installation and march to City Green to take over the stage. The Drumline’s performance will transition into the Cold Soda Club concert at 6:00 pm while the Warped Dance Company will present a special aerial performance. At 7:00 pm Boogát will perform, blending hip-hop with Latin styles such as cumbia, salsa, and reggaeton.
This concert kicks off the start of the fourth year of the Levitt AMP Music Series in Sheboygan featuring original artists. The new City Green venue has ample seating space – attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for their own comfort. Grounds, food, and concessions open at 5:30 pm each Thursday night of the concert series. Alcohol carry-ins are not allowed, but beverages will be available to purchase at the 3 Sheeps Brewing Company tent.
