CITY OF SHEBOYGAN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
The Sheboygan Community Development Department is now accepting applications for the 2025-2026 Public Service Agency Grant program award year. The funding for this program is provided by a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and is contingent on the City receiving its new CDBG funds. This is a competitive program that makes grants generally available up to $20,000 to non-profit public service agencies primarily serving persons of low and moderate income who reside in the City of Sheboygan. The program year begins April 1, 2025, and ends March 31, 2026. Note that available public services grant funds are limited and capped by CDBG regulations.
Eligibility Basics
· Eligible organizations must be either a 501(c)3, 509(a), faith-based entities, and/or public agency.
· Services or benefits must be provided to persons within the City of Sheboygan.
· Must meet HUD’s national objective of the CDBG Program, which is to provide the following, principally for persons of low and moderate income (LMI): decent housing, a suitable living environment, and/or expanded economic opportunities. (24 CFR 570.208)
· Be an eligible activity under U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations. (24 CFR 570.201)
· All funded activities must either be a new service or demonstrate a quantifiable increase in services provided.
· Address one or more of the City’s defined priorities as indicated in the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan.
· Applicants must be established and in operation at the time of application.
The deadline for submission of applications to the City of Sheboygan Community Development Department is 8:00 am on Thursday, May 8, 2025. In order to be considered for funding, applications must be received by that date and time.
