[Posted June 20, 2018] The City of Sheboygan is accepting applications for an Electrical/Housing Inspector. The successful candidate will assist in the enforcement of the National Electric Code and housing related issues through investigating citizen complaints, initiating legal action through the City Attorney, making sanitary surveys and inspecting public buildings. Primary hours of operation are day shift, 8 hours per day. Periodic weekend inspections, as well as electrical inspections during the absence of the Electrical Inspector, are anticipated. Must have strong, positive communication abilities and be able to maintain effective working relationships. Requires a State of Wisconsin Master Electrician (full) license or State of Wisconsin Commercial Electrician Inspector certification and the ability to obtain a Uniform Dwelling Code HVAC certification within six months of hire. PART-TIME CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
[Posted July 16, 2018] The City of Sheboygan is seeking a candidate for the position of a Part-Time Code Enforcement Officer to perform investigative and administrative work required to enforce the city’s zoning, housing, signage, health, public safety, property maintenance, and nuisance codes and other applicable city regulations. Successful candidate must be a self-starter, capable of working independently, with above-average communication abilities, both written and verbal. The position is temporary and currently funded for up to 30 hours/week. Minimum qualifications include graduation from high school or equivalent; one year experience in the building trade and/or building inspection field preferred; ability to understand and communicate code enforcement policies and programs to the public. Pay range is $10.00 – $15.00 per hour.

Hours are 7:30 am to 8:10 am Monday through Friday; 2:45 pm to 3:25 pm Monday through Friday, except Wednesdays when the hours are from 1:45 pm to 2:15 pm. Applicants must have own transportation.
