The City of Sheboygan has closed the books on 2017 financial performance and issued two reports that will enhance residents’ and taxpayers’ understanding of city finances:
The PAFR is intended to promote transparency and accountability of both financial and non-financial city information. It is the city’s goal to communicate the financial operations in an understandable report. The PAFR is available on sheboyganwi.gov and in print at the Mead Public Library, City Clerk’s office, and Senior Activity Center. The CAFR provides a complete summary of the financial activities which are audited by the firm of Schenck SC. This document is available on sheboyganwi.gov or may be viewed in print at City Hall.
Sharing this type of information with citizens is consistent with the city Strategic Plan’s focus area of communication. Sharing this type of information with citizens is consistent with the highest standards and best practices of government financial reporting. Both reports have been submitted for recognition consideration to the Government Finance Officers Association, a national organization whose mission is to advance excellence in state and local government financial management.
